3 key ideas that teachers would find useful

According to the Barone & Wright (2008) reading, teachers should take into consideration
three points regarding new literacy instruction.

Three points raised are;
students need more than practice or use of software programs to be ready for new literacies; teachers need to adapt to the forever changing new literacies;
and new literacies offer equality within a classroom therefore they are crucial.

According to the Pericles (2008) reading, blogs are a very useful tool for teachers.
Three points raised are; blogs are simple to create and are appropriate to all of the key learning areas; blogging is a collaborative exercise, encouraging users to communicate and change roles between posting, viewing and commenting; there are many different possibilities within blogging depending on different needs, for example assignments, news, information, class activities, creative arts, journal work etc.
